Heydao exists to get people meeting in person, so safety is not an add-on. Below is what the product actually does, what you can do before and during a meetup, and what we cannot do.
How safety is built into Heydao
Heydao never handles money between users
Heydao does not process payments, deposits, entry fees, ticketing or refunds between users. That means “pay first to join” is not a real Heydao flow — if someone asks you for money to take part, it is not how the product works. Report it.
Content goes through safety review
Posted content goes through AI safety review; anything hitting a high-risk category is blocked and routed to human review. Sexual content involving minors, non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual coercion and trafficking are zero tolerance — confirmed cases mean a permanent ban and reporting to the authorities as required.
Before you meet
Make the first meeting a public one
Choose a busy, well-lit public place and work out in advance how you will leave. Arrange your own transport both ways rather than relying on someone you just met — being able to decide when you leave matters more than anything else.
Tell someone you trust
Tell someone you trust where you are going, who with, and roughly when you expect to be back. In the App you can also set an emergency contact, or opt in to sharing your current location with a specific person for the meetup — both are off by default and only you can turn them on.
Keep the conversation in the App at first
Conversations inside the App are covered by moderation and leave a record you can report. If someone pushes early to move to another platform, asks for your phone number, or will not describe the plan clearly in the App, treat that itself as a signal.
While you are there
Trust your instincts and leave whenever you want
If you feel uncomfortable at any point, end the meetup and leave. You do not owe anyone an explanation and you do not need to wait for a polite moment. Nobody has the right to require you to stay.
Keep your things with you and watch your drinking
Keep your phone, ID and valuables on you, and do not leave a drink unattended. Limit alcohol: you want to stay in a state where you can read the situation and get yourself home.
Do not end up somewhere you cannot leave
Do not follow someone you have just met to a private residence, an enclosed venue, or anywhere you cannot leave on your own. A plan that suddenly turns into a completely different activity is also a reason to stop.
If something goes wrong
In an emergency, call local emergency services first
If you are in real-world danger, contact your local emergency services first — not us. No platform process is faster than police or an ambulance.
Report and block
You can report and block any user or content in the App. Depending on severity we remove content, restrict features, suspend, or permanently ban accounts, and the person restricted can appeal through the App. For privacy and safety reasons reporters usually do not receive detailed enforcement outcomes about the other account — that does not mean nothing happened. You can also email admin@heydao.app for safety concerns, or report@heydao.app to report content.
If intimate images are shared or used to threaten you
Sharing, or threatening to share, someone’s intimate images without consent is zero tolerance. If you are the person depicted, use the priority removal channel: report in the App, or email report@heydao.app with the subject “NCII Removal”. Good-faith reporters are not penalized for reporting, or for necessarily preserving evidence.

These lines are run independently by third parties and may change; in an emergency, rely on your local official emergency number.
What we cannot do
Tools reduce risk; they do not remove it
Review, reporting, emergency contacts and location sharing reduce risk, but they cannot guarantee that anyone is safe. Until you are confident yourself, treat people you meet through Heydao as strangers. You and every other participant are responsible for your own conduct, and whoever posts a gathering acts in a personal capacity — not as an agent or employee of Heydao.
Do not investigate on your own
Do not investigate, track, bait or publicly expose someone you suspect of wrongdoing. It can harm innocent people, break the law, and interfere with our review. Use the report function and let us handle it.
